Recently deleted

What you delete waits 30 days in Recently deleted, at the bottom of the sidebar. Restore it there, or delete it for good.

What goes there

Goes there
Documents, notes (research notes and transcripts too), your templates, analyses, prototypes, projects, final versions, boards you made from Home, and a single fact in the Second Brain.
Deleted at once
Forget everything in the Second Brain deletes every fact now, the ones in Recently deleted too. Deleting your account deletes everything now, Recently deleted included.
Goes with its parent
The parts inside a document: comments, its board, Scrapbook files. They wait with the document. A project's board and a final version's board wait with them.

Each row shows what the item is, where it was, who deleted it, when, and how many days it has left. The last three days show in a warning colour. Search by name from six rows.

Restore

Restore puts the item back where it was. A document comes back with its content and its people, and the same invite link. One that was open comes back open, in the stage it was in; one that was closed comes back to Documents → Closed. What closing ends stays ended: the keepsake photos, an agent's access, and AI work that was in progress.

A note or an analysis goes back into its project. When that project is gone, it comes back without one.

A deleted project lets go of its documents, notes and final versions: they stay where they are, without a project. Restore the project and those still without one go back into it.

Right after a delete, the message on the page has Undo. It does the same as Restore.

Delete for good and Empty

Delete for good deletes one item now, and Empty… deletes everything in Recently deleted now. Both ask first, because you cannot undo them. After 30 days an item is deleted for good by itself. An encrypted backup copy can hold it for at most ten weeks more; see Privacy.

What other people see

Only you see your Recently deleted. When you delete a document, its guests lose access at once and see only that the host deleted it. When you restore it, they have it again. The same goes for the people on a board: deleting the board, or the project or final version it belongs to, ends their access and its link at once, and Restore brings both back. A guest who deleted their own account in the meantime does not come back.
